Advantage.Bid
Marketplace Terms

Simple, fair rules for everyone.

How bidding, payment, and pickup work — and what both buyers and sellers agree to when they participate on Advantage.Bid.

Last updated: May 2025

Bidding is a commitment

When you place a bid, you're committing to purchase that lot if you win. Bids cannot be retracted under normal circumstances — once placed, a bid is binding.

Before bidding: review the lot photos, condition notes, materials, and the general pickup area. The lot page is your primary reference. If you have questions about a specific lot before placing a bid, contact Advantage support in advance.

You only pay when you win

Your card is never charged when you bid. Payment is due only after a lot closes and you are confirmed as the winner. You will receive a win notification with payment instructions.

Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Debit and credit cards are accepted. The amount you pay is your winning bid plus the buyer premium (shown live on every lot page during bidding) plus any applicable tax. There are no additional hidden fees.

A payment window is provided after the auction closes. Contact Advantage support if you encounter difficulty completing payment.

Items are sold as-is

All lots are sold in their documented condition. Sellers are required to provide accurate descriptions, condition notes, and representative photos for every lot. The Advantage team reviews all submissions before publishing.

Items on Advantage.Bid come from real estate sales, liquidations, and collections — not retail suppliers. They are pre-owned, one-of-a-kind, and sold in the condition described. Bid based on the information provided.

If you believe a lot was materially and significantly misdescribed — not simply a difference in personal opinion — contact Advantage support after the auction. Cases are evaluated individually.

Fair bidding for everyone

Anti-sniping protection: Bids placed within the final 2 minutes of a lot's closing window automatically extend that lot's close time by 2 minutes. This continues until 2 full minutes pass with no new bids — giving every active bidder a fair chance to respond. No one can win by timing a last-second snipe.

Bid increments: Bids must meet a minimum increment based on the current bid level. The required minimum is shown on each lot page — you never need to calculate it yourself.

Buyer premium: The buyer premium — a percentage platform fee added to your winning bid — is displayed live on every lot page during bidding. You always see your total before committing.

Bidder privacy: Bidders are identified by auction-specific paddle numbers during the auction. Your name and account details are never visible to other participants while bidding is active.

Pickup

After your payment is confirmed, the full pickup address is released to you — not before. The pickup window begins at least 36 hours after the last lot in the auction closes. Specific dates and times are published with each auction.

Buyers are responsible for collecting their lots during the designated pickup window. Bring your payment confirmation (printed or on your phone) and your own moving equipment. Sellers are not required to provide packing, wrapping, or moving assistance.

If you cannot make the scheduled pickup window, contact Advantage support as soon as possible. Sellers set specific windows and may not have flexibility. Failure to collect during the window may result in forfeiture of the item without refund.

You may send a designated representative to collect on your behalf, provided they carry a written authorization from you and a copy of your payment confirmation.

Seller obligations

Sellers agree to:

Sellers who fail to honor auction results, misrepresent inventory, or violate marketplace integrity are removed from the platform.

Disputes

Contact Advantage support through your account dashboard for any dispute — misdescription, pickup issues, payment problems, or any other concern. Provide the auction ID, lot number, and a clear description of the issue.

Every report is reviewed by a real person on our team. We take marketplace integrity seriously and respond to all reports.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms as the marketplace evolves. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
